Ferndale
Today it rained, so we drove south toward a patch of blue in the sky and discovered a town with glorious rainbows everywhere. Ferndale is the best-preserved Victorian Village in California. This colorful town is filled with antique stores, art galleries and shops.
After hiking through Russ Park under light drizzle, we settled in at the historic Shaw House victorian mansion. Brian had been negotiating great bargains the whole trip, and this was his best yet - $100 per night including a big homemade breakfast!
